This week for sale this 1869 timepiece that was made by most respected in the history of American horology E. Howard Watch Company”. In 1868, an American engineer and watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones who had been a director of E. Howard & Co., in Boston, then America's leading watchmaking company, founded the IWC – International Watch Company with the intention of combining the craftsmanship of the Swiss with the modern engineering technology from the U.S. to manufacture movements and watch parts for the American market.

This is CUSTOMIZED WATCH model that features an ORIGINAL PORCELAIN DIAL, CHROMED STEEL case and an original pocket watch mechanism (SIZE 16 – L) with BLUE STEEL SCREWS, MASSIVE BARREL PLATE (3/4), STRAIGHT LINE DAMASKEENING, GENEVA PATTERN, THREE RAISED & SCREWED in GOLD JEWEL SETTINGS, CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in GOLD and SWAN NECK MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.

This rare timepiece features an elegant, white, sunken ORIGINAL PORCELAIN dial is in good condition, considering age of this watch, but with several small hairlines. The swivel lugs with Blue Enamel are in great condition while the winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. The case has MINERAL glasses on the front and back side. The case is decorated with HIGH QUALITY ENGRAVING.

Peeking inside via the glass lid I find a spotless and high grade, manual wind nickel finished lever escapement movement with BLUE STEEL SCREWS, MASSIVE BARREL PLATE (3/4), STRAIGHT LINE DAMASKEENING, GENEVA PATTERN, THREE RAISED & SCREWED in GOLD JEWEL SETTINGS, CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in GOLD and SWAN NECK MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.
