Unique Double-Sided Eterna Chronomètre Concept Watch Based on Original Swiss Pocket Watch Movement 1932-1933

This timepiece has TWO new dial front and back and is not a standard pocket watch conversion. It is a completely hand-engineered horological project incorporating a fully custom-designed transmission system that allows both dials to remain fully functional.

The First dial is BLACK enameled in excellent condition and positioned near 2 o'clock. This gorgeous, men’s wristwatch features a 60 minute checkered outer track border, main golden Arabic numbering and gold steel Cathedral-style hands. The new dial has been professionally updated, and now is in excellent condition. There is decorated with GUILLOCHE and signed ETERNA in golden enamel lettering below the 12.

This watch preserves the complete functionality of the original movement while adding an entirely new WHITE enameled display on the opposite side. This dial features a 60 minute checkered outer track border, main Arabic numbering, original blue steel Breguet-style hands and a recessed sub-seconds dial with 60 second outer chapter and “sweep” original blue steel seconds hand. The new dial has been professionally updated, and now is in excellent condition. Signed ETERNA CHRONOMETRE in black enamel lettering below the 12. 

It is a registered design model that features a three-piece STAINLESS STEEL case that provides with glass cover of back lid. This watch was converted from pocket watch. STAINLESS STEEL case, new custom made, fantastic, build specially for this excellent ETERNA movement. The lugs are in great condition while the Onion-style winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. The case has MINERAL glasses on the front and back side. The case is decorated with HIGH QUALITY LASER ENGRAVING in lateral bezel. 

Peeking inside via the glass lid I find a spotless and high quality manual wind gold plated lever escapement movement with BLUE STEEL SCREWS, THREE FINGER BRIDGE, SWAN NECK MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING. The movement is signed ETERNA with the movement serial number #2.552.691.

Engineering concept

The heart of this project is a custom-manufactured gear transmission module.

This module was individually designed, calculated, manufactured, adjusted, and installed specifically for this movement.

Rather than modifying or damaging the original caliber, the additional mechanism precisely duplicates the wheel train and transfers the motion to a newly created front dial.

As a result:

- both sides display the correct time;

- both dials operate simultaneously;

- the original movement remains mechanically complete;

- the historical integrity of the vintage caliber has been preserved.

This engineering solution required extensive calculations of transmission ratios, wheel geometry, shaft positioning, and synchronization tolerances to ensure perfect operation.

This watch is a true one-of-a-kind creation. No factory has ever produced this configuration. No commercially available conversion follows this engineering philosophy. It represents hundreds of hours of design, machining, restoration, assembly, and precision adjustment.

Rather than simply converting a pocket watch into a wristwatch, this project transforms a historic Swiss chronometer into a unique mechanical sculpture while preserving the complete functionality of the original movement.

This fine watch winds and sets smoothly and keeps great, accurate time maintains perfect synchronization.

Because of the vintage nature of the watch I cannot guarantee its absolute time keeping accuracy even if they are in good running condition and in some rare occasions may require additional adjustment.
