Vintage Mens Wristwatch Gold Regulateur Men's Wrist Watch Omega Movement

For the collector or the admirer this CUSTOMIZED WATCH – REGULATEUR made by WANDOLEC ART STUDIO with TWO separate dials, ORIGINAL SILVER CASE (gold plated later) and original pocket watch movement with CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in GOLD, BI-METALLIC MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.

This watch is called a “Transitional" era watch. It was re-cased for use as a wristwatch. This was quite common back then, as it became “fashionable” for men to wear wristwatches (and stop carrying pocket watches around) they would send a small pocket watch to the original factory or jeweler to be retrofitted. It is an important part of watch history and tells the story of the wristwatch as it grew in popularity.

This timepiece features a handsome STEEL enameled dial in excellent condition, absolutely no chips of abuse. It is featuring a 60 minute checkered outer track borders, blue & silver enameled five minute Arabic numerals, steel Breguet-Style minute hand and TWO separate dials: a recessed sub-seconds dial with “sweep” steel seconds hand and Arabic numerals and sub-hour dial with “sweep” steel hour’s hand and black Arabic numerals.

The new dial has been professionally updated, and now is in excellent condition. There is signed OMEGA with trademark Omega symbol above this and further signed REGULATEUR.

This model features an ORIGINAL four piece, triple-hinged SILVER case that provides for a useful dust cover over the movement. The case was made especially for OMEGA. Turning the watch over I note that the back lid, with vacant crest, is nice and clean. This watch was converted from pocket watch. The case has been in addition GOLD PLATED later. The swivel lugs are in great condition while the Onion-style winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. The inside of the outer case lid is stamped OMEGA with trademark Omega symbol and case referent number #5,711,699. There are also Swiss (Wood Grouse), German (Crescent Moon/Crown) and 0.800 Silver hallmarks. This stamps, case reference number and Silver hallmarks repeat inside on the inner case lid.

Lifting this lid reveals an inner dust cover lid, also Silver. This was used to protect the mechanism from dust and debris and to provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. What’s nice about this particular dust cover is how it’s decorated, complete with engraved twelve medals with exquisite miniature detailing in the center and is signed OMEGA.

Peeking inside I find is a clean manual wind and higher-grade, gold plated lever escapement movement with CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in GOLD, BI-METALLIC MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING. The movement is signed OMEGA.

This beautiful wristwatch has the ORIGINAL OMEGA movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch, but some of the wearable parts on the movement might be replaced, and custom made to fit, since it is close to impossible to find original parts. Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time.

It is fitted on a new 22mm black genuine leather strap with gold Stainless Steel buckle that is vintage style and goes great with this wonderful watch.

This very fine watch winds and sets very smoothly while keeping very good, accurate time.

Because of the vintage nature of the watch I cannot guarantee its absolute time keeping accuracy even if they are in good running condition and in some rare occasions may require additional adjustment.
