I am pleased to offer for sale this 1883-1899 timepiece that was made by most respected in the history of American horology E. Howard Watch Company”. In 1868, an American engineer and watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones who had been a director of E. Howard & Co., in Boston, then America's leading watchmaking company, founded the IWC – International Watch Company with the intention of combining the craftsmanship of the Swiss with the modern engineering technology from the U.S. to manufacture movements and watch parts for the American market.

 

It is a NOBLE DESIGN WATCH model that features a BLACK & GOLD DIAL, ROSE GOLDEN 24K STEEL case and an original pocket watch mechanism (SIZE 18 – N) with BLUE STEEL SCREWS, THREE RAISED & SCREWED in GOLD JEWEL SETTINGS, CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in RED GOLD and SWAN NECK MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING that dates to 1883-1899.

 

 

This timepiece features a new BLACK & GOLD elegant STEEL dial is in excellent condition. This dial features a 60 minute outer track border, gold main Arabic numerals, gold enameled steel Roman-style hands and a recessed sub-seconds dial with 60 second outer chapter and “sweep” steel seconds hand. The new dial has been professionally updated, and now is in excellent condition. Signed E.HOWARD & Co in gold enameled lettering below the 12.

 

 

It is a registered design model that features a three piece GOLD PLATED – 23K CASE that provides with glass cover of back covering. This watch was converted from pocket watch. The ROSE GOLDEN case, new custom made, fantastic, build of THE WANDOLEC ART STUDIO specially for this excellent HOWARD movement. The lugs are in great condition while the winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. The case has MINERAL glasses on the front and back side. The case is decorated HIGH QUALITY ENGRAVING.

 

Peeking inside via the glass lid I find a spotless and high grade, manual wind gold-plated lever escapement movement with BLUE STEEL SCREWS, THREE RAISED & SCREWED in GOLD JEWEL SETTINGS, CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in RED GOLD and SWAN NECK MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.

 

The movement is clearly marked E. HOWARD & Co. – BOSTON – N with movement serial number #206.894. This serial number dates this watch to 1883-1899, as per published production numbers. The movement size is 18S (the letter N) and Series VII Model.

 

This beautiful wristwatch has the ORIGINAL movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time.

 

It is fitted on a new Handmade of THE WANDOLEC ART STUDIO 24mm black alligator style genuine leather strap with gold steel buckle that has a great vintage look to it.
