I am pleased to offer for sale this gent’s ELGIN timepiece dating to 1903. This a NOBLE DESIGN WATCH features ORIGINAL porcelain DIAL, ROSE GOLD PLATED 23K CASE and original pocket watch mechanism with BLUE STEEL SCREWS, GOLD WHEELS, GENEVA PATTERN, THREE FINGER BRIDGE, CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in RED GOLD, BI-METALLIC MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.

 

 

This timepiece features an ORIGINAL handsome sunken PORCELAIN dial is excellent condition, absolutely no chips of abuse. It features a 60 minute checkered outer track border, black main Roman numerals, original blue steel Spade-style hands and sunken sub-second dial with “sweep” original blue steel seconds hand and 60 second outer chapter. Signed ELGIN in black enamel lettering below the XII.

 

 

It is a registered design model that features a three piece ROSE GOLD PLATED – 23K case that provides with glass cover of back lid. This watch was converted from pocket watch. ROSE GOLD PLATED – 23K case, new custom made, fantastic, builds of THE WANDOLEC ART STUDIO specially for this excellent ELGIN movement. The lugs are in great condition while the engraved winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. The case has MINERAL glasses on the front & back side. The case is decorated HIGH QUALITY ENGRAVING.

 

 

Peeking inside via the glass lid I find a clean, high-grade manual wind nickel finished lever escapement mechanism with BLUE STEEL SCREWS, GOLD WHEELS, GENEVA PATTERN, THREE FINGER BRIDGE, CHATON of REGULATION SCREWS in RED GOLD, BI-METALLIC MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.

There is signed ELGIN NATL.WATCH Co – USA – SAFETY PINION. Also is signed the movement serial number #9.803.985. This serial number dates this watch to 1903 as per published production numbers. The movement has #206 caliber and #6S size.

 

 

This beautiful wristwatch has the ORIGINAL ELGIN WATCH Co movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time.

 

 

This is a “NAIL SET” watch so you don’t pull the crown out to set the time. Instead, you press the little button near the crown IN and then move the crown to set the hands, releasing the button once you’re finished. It’s easy, so don’t worry about getting the hang of it!

 

It comes complete with a new 24mm black alligator style high quality genuine leather strap with matching gold Stainless steel buckle for a most excellent look.

This cleaned, oiled and regulated antique watch winds and sets very smoothly while keeping very good, accurate time.

Because of the vintage nature of the watch I cannot guarantee its absolute time keeping accuracy even if they are in good running condition and in some rare occasions may require additional adjustment.
