I am pleased to offer for sale this 1891 timepiece 100% ORIGINAL GOLD – 18K – POCKET WATCH. Indeed, it was made by the venerable PATEK PHILIPPE & Company.

It is a registered design model that features an ORIGINAL porcelain sunken dial signed PATEK PHILIPPE, GOLD – 18K – CASE and signed HIGHEST QUALITY original movement with the TWO-PART WINDING BRIDGE, WINDING WHEELS WITH WOLF TEETH TRANSMISSION, END-PIECES of ANOTHER STEEL for the ESCAPE WHEEL, SNAIL (CLAMSHELL) MICROMETER REGULATOR and BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.

Patek Philippe & Co. is to watches what Rolls Royce is to cars— synonymous with the best. This prestigious Swiss watchmaking firm is arguably the most famous manufacturer of timepieces worldwide. To own a Patek Philippe watch remains a symbol of wealth and importance: kings and queens were their clients, while other watchmakers frantically copied them – imitation being the highest form of flattery, and moreover a means to a more lucrative sale with the help of the famous Patek Philippe signature. The Patek Philippe legend continues to grow and fascinate. The soaring prices achieved by Patek Philippe watches at auction—particularly within the last decade — prove to what degree these precious timepieces are sought-after by collectors. One collector paid $11,002,500 for a rare Patek Philippe pocket watch, thereby earning it a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This timepiece features an ORIGINAL handsome sunken white PORCELAIN enamel dial is in excellent to mint condition, absolutely no chips of abuse. It features a 60 minute checkered outer track border, elegant black enamel painted Roman numerals, original blue steel Spade-style hands and a sunken sub-seconds dial with 60 second outer chapter and “sweep” original blue steel seconds hand.

Signed PATEK PHILIPPE & Co in black enamel lettering below the 12 and further signed GENEVE.

It is a registered design model that features a FIVE piece HUNTER MODEL triple-hinged ORIGINAL GOLD – 18K – case that provides for a useful dust cover over the movement and front lid. This timepiece is ORIGINAL GOLD POCKET WATCH.

The front lid is in excellent condition. The inside of the front case lid is stamped trademark symbol by Patek Philippe & Co – CALATRAVA CROSS. There are also Swiss (HELVETIA), UK (Crown) and 0.750 Gold hallmarks. Also is signed from Lapshin A.N. of the Novorossiysk City Soviet – 20.III.1932 (in the Cyrillic).

Turning the watch over I see that the back lid is in excellent condition. The inside of the outer case lid is stamped trademark symbol by Patek Philippe & Co – CALATRAVA CROSS, case reference number #209,133. Also is stamped Swiss (HELVETIA), UK (Crown) and 0.750 Gold hallmarks. This stamps, case reference number and Gold hallmarks repeat inside on the inner case lid.

Lifting this lid reveals an inner dust cover lid, also GOLD. This was used to protect the mechanism from dust and debris and to provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. The inner case lid is signed PATEK PHILIPPE – GENEVE with the movement serial number #88.717.

The winding crown with the bottom from opening front lid is in very good shape and operates properly.

Peeking inside I find a spotless and HIGHEST QUALITY, manual wind gold-plated lever escapement movement with the TWO-PART WINDING BRIDGE, WINDING WHEELS WITH WOLF TEETH TRANSMISSION, END-PIECES of ANOTHER STEEL for the ESCAPE WHEEL, SNAIL (CLAMSHELL) MICROMETER REGULATOR and BLUE BREGUET BALANCE SPRING.

One bridge holds the escape wheel; the escape wheel bearing is furnished with a ANOTHER STEEL END PIECE. This end piece is used to minimize the axial clearance of the wheel arbor and enhances the precision of this important element of the escapement. End jewels also protect the stuffs from dirt and dust.

The movement signed PATEK PHILIPPE & Co – GENEVE. Also it signed the movement serial number #88.717. This serial number corresponds to 1891 production date as per published records of PATEK PHILIPPE & Co.

This beautiful GOLD POCKET WATCH has the Original movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch.
